Atenolol to bystolic (nebivolol): Given the doses you mention and the half time of atenolol you should be able to just switch without weaning. Discuss with your prescribing doctor however.

MEDICATION: Best to discuss medication with your Psychiatrist. If uncomfortable with your Dr. consult another for a second opinion. Have a physical exam by a Dr. to determine if you have a physical illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy with ZOOM sessions. Fears and anxiety could be heightened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stay safe & hopeful to elevate your immune system.

Can 5 mg of bystolic (nebivolol) be switched right over to 25 mg of atenenol?

Sure: I don't think there is any absolute conversion, but this seems like a pretty reasonable change in medications. It may be that your doctor is trying to get better control of your blood pressure? Atenolol, an older drug, may be much more affordable. Anyway ask the person who prescribed it what they were thinking. Hope the new drug works great for you and you feel healthy.
