Normal: salty is a new one but people will describe the taste differently. Now if he/she used a saline solution to irrigate the area (I always do) you may be tasting that. The wound/site will also have a taste as well. If the sinus perf was small I would take a decongestant along with pain meds for the first 48hrs and monitor the area. I truly wouldn't be worried and just try to keep it clean.

Severe sharp pain in upper right teeth. Now radiating to bottom right. Pain comes in random waves of no pain to severe sharp. Dentist did many x-rays and other tests. All teeth are normal. Max sinuses clogged though. Could sinus really cause this?
