Alcohol: Intoxication or withdrawal can cause this sort of behavior especially in patients with alcohol use disorders. Either way, it’s a serious disease and he needs treatment; it’s an illness that requires urgent care. However, like anyone with an illness, seeking treatment is ultimately up to the patient. If he's willing to seek treatment, please have him do so ASAP; it can can be life threatening.
