Most definitely: You have to bring your blood pressure under control. You are at high risk of full blown stroke with possible debilitating consequences. I am sure you are cutting down on sodium to less than 2000mg a day (read nutrition label) and not smoking and losing weight if overweight. Also, your doctor can test you for other causes like hormonal problems that are fixable.

Focus on BP: Your blood pressure is elevated, and this can provide risk of stroke or TIA. This needs to be brought under control ASAP. Do not hesitate, as this is a significant risk factor.
