is occasionally oily stool a problem?maybe once in 20 times (very rough guess). color normal and no other symptoms. otherwise very healthy. age 55.

Malabsorption.: Fat ("oil") in the stool usually suggests malabsorption, which does require an investigation as to cause. I hope you've had a colonoscopy by now. If not, that needs to be a part of this investigation.
