A member asked:

Can breastfeeding cessation cause insomnia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Insomnia: Over time your new baby will not need breastfeeding. As breastfeeding gets shorter you should have no trouble with insomnia. That said, babies do cry at night and it does interfere with your sleep. It should not take long for baby to sleep for hours. Is this your first baby? If not, did your other children cause more sleep problems, and if so, how long did they interfere with your sleep?
