Rib Pain: Ribs can crack with laughing and bear hugs, etc. Pain is increased with breathing and very local and sharp with pressure. If so, get and x-ray. Tender ribs can be Tietze Syndrome which is a tenderness in the cartilaginous part of the rib and can last months. It is exacerbated by rubbing or touching. In that case HANDS OFF! and take some Aleve (naproxen). It will pass.
