Surgery is NOT a fix: The 2 surgeries are different. Correct your diet, lose weight, cut out smoking, alcohol, caffeine. Take responsibility for your health, research your problem and DO NOT follow blindly what any doctor tells you to do.

Different modalities: Nissan fundoplication is solely for GERD. Gastric Bypass if for weight loss but can help GERD but is not the treatment of choice for GERD
