Tough call: he is basically "drunk" from xanax (alprazolam). probably needs monitoring at home and let him sleep it off. but maybe he took more than 3 xanax (alprazolam)? and maybe he develops other symptoms. so probably a good idea to take him to ER for a drug test and monitoring. Tough call.

Safety: An adolescent acquiring either prescription or recreational drugs at a party could be at significant risk. It may well be tough to fully determine what else he took. He sounds somewhat intoxicated and even mildly delirious. Yes, go to nearby ER, get a Tox-screen, and treat as necessary. He may need subsequent counseling.

Yes: Yes: You can't be sure ( and he may not even be sure ) exactly what he took and how much. Slurring speech is sign of an excessive amount of medication. To be safe have him immediately seen. Also begin to think about how to get him psychological help in follow-up.
