Hold pressure: In general a shaving cut shouldn't be too deep. If you just hold firm continuous pressure without letting up on it for at least 5-10 minutes the bleeding should stop, if you don't have an underlying problem with your clotting ability or aren't taking any medications that would interfere with your clotting factors. Toxic shock syndrome is unlikely to occur within an hour of a shaving cut.
