A member asked:

I had laser hair removal on my arm and now my mole looks puffed up, could this be a melanoma?

Unlikely: Since hair follicles and moles grow together, likely the laser treatment irritated the hair follicles in the moles. Watch for one month , if still puffy, need to be seen by a dermatologist .

Unlikely: Laser treatment will not cause a melanoma. The mole I assume was in the area where the hairs were lasered and probably received some of the energy and got a little inflamed. If it were a melanoma , then it would have had to been that way prior to the laser treatment.
