Probably not: Only a small number of nevi turn into melanoma. Most that convert are in areas not frequently exposed to sun light. Small nevi that occasionally convert are irregular in shape as they expand out and then have variegated colors such as gray, black and almost white As recognized by the host, there is a ring of redness around them and then a tendency to nodularity. Keep closer watch: Moles are common especially in fair skinned people, but they do not appear suddenly. I doubt that you have melanoma.Monitor your skin closely for the next few months and look for any changes in your moles. You can monitor them with the help of a spouse or a friend or take a photograph now and use it as a reference for any changes. If any of the moles is getting bigger then seek a doctor's advice.
