GERD: If GERD test for h pylori a bacreria that can exacerbate GERD- needs antibiotics. Also may be food intolerances-milk,gluten, soy -check by blood /skin tests If not improved after 6 weeks of therapy- may need EGD - a look at esophagus w/ scope for ulcers or strictures-tigtening. Check gall bladder w/ ultrasound. Surgery is rare, bleeding/ cancer. f/u/doc
