Try Physical therapy: Sometimes a course of physical therapy (stretching/strengthening) can be helpful for neck strain. However, if it is a mechanical problem due to arthritis in the spine, you could also see a pain specialist for additional options, such as an injection of a pain-relieving medication directly to the involved nerve.

Response: You spelled properly. If you have a pinched nerve in your neck, you will experience radiating pain down an arm. Usually, once diagnosis is established, most cases respond to physical therapy, such as motorized traction. Epidural injections may help, and surgery is only indicated if all conservative measures fail.

Varies: It varies somewhat based upon the underlying cause. The progressively more involved options include: time to see if it will get better, rest, non invasive things such as therapy, chiropractic, and traction; interventional pain management including epidural steroid injections, and finally surgical considerations. Don't hesitate to be seen to discuss the specifics of your case.
