Not necessarily : the strongest association has been seen when people have this infection in their blood and/or heart valves. Even with these infections, colon cancer is only discovered in perhaps 25% of people. the association is not as strong with infections at other sites. depending on your age and risk factors- it is always a good idea to see a doctor and determine if a colonoscopy is indicated.
