It can be injury of one of the spinal structures: It can be injury of one of the spinal structures. Uncertain why you were given prednisone. I don't know what imaging you had, but since this lasted that long and suggest injury either to the bone or soft tissue

Thorough eval.: That sounds like a pretty significant mechanism of injury. If it is not getting better, or getting better only temporarily with the steroids, I would consider getting a thorough evaluation and then usually either a ct scan or an MRI to fully evaluate the extent of your injury.
