Can physical and emotional stress accelerate the progression of arthritis?

Yes: Physical stress may cause progress but proof is not strong, since the body heals it self and strengths with use. Depression makes everything seem worse and there is fair evidence to suggest that it can effect physical damage. Exercise increases dopamine and endorphans that counter emotional stress. Try walking a fast pace several miles daily @EHR about 125 if your doc OKs it. Move it or lose it!

Yes: Physical stress on the joints can cause progression of the arthritis. Emotional stress tends to increase the symptoms of arthritis.
