Lump behind ear: It could be a lymph node behind your ear that drains from the tissues of the ear and scalp in general. You state that it is hard, fixed, thus it could be irregular bone that you are feeling behind the ear on the temporal bone, within which the mastoid bone is located. See ENT MD for exam.
