Local anesthesia: Epinephrine is added to anesthesia to reduce bleeding & in this case have the effects of the anesthesia last longer. The specific type of anesthesia, the location of the tooth, your metabolism and the injection technique are what will effect how profound the anesthesia is. Anesthesia without epinephrine is used for short procedures and with epinephrine for longer procedures (&2 control bleeding)

Not stronger: The duration of action can be doubled with the addition of epinephrine.
