Arthritis does hurt.: The easy answer is to say that, in fact, arthritis does hurt. But a new and temporary pain in the context of knee OA could be a popliteal cyst, meniscal tear, crucial element ligament injury, bursitis or collateral ligament injury, too. An arthritic knee is a weak and vulnerable knee.
