95% of people carry ebv but only a few get mono. does that mean these few have much weaker immune system and potential to get more serious stuff? help

No difference: There is no known difference in the immune systems between people who get symptoms of mononucleosis when they catch EBV and those who don't have mono. It seems to be random. Those with or without obvious mono are not known to have any higher risk of other complications of EBV, such as rare cases of lymphoma.
