I had a subtotal gastrectomy my hb now is 9.6 i take iron and folic acid but my blood won't rise i am on glivec too. what should i do to raise my hb?

Absorption problem: After subtotal gastrectomy where the duodenum is by passed , absorption of iron and B 12 is impaired. If you are not bleeding excessively during periods , this could be your problem. Check Iron and B 12 levels , eat small meals multiple times . Speak to your surgeon.
