Step by step: B"sd for 24 yo wife, there is no mandate for period every month - if everything ok. Usualy, gyn will give a course of progesterone (eg Provera = medroxyprogesterone) which should cause maturation and sloughing of the uterine lining = menstruation. In many cases normal, spontaneous periods may ensue. If not then a endocrine w/u is in order to determine cause of amennorhea (lack of periods)
