The cord compression: The cord involvement is the real issue. You should see a neurosurgeon. If the cord is compressed. You may have to have a surgical intervention

Risks: If the spinal cord is being threatened or actually compressed, this could eventually result in damage called myelomalacia. The extent of the threat will determine whether surgery is probable. Need to discuss with a neurosurgeon, ASAP.
