A member asked:

How likely is it to have igg for hsv2 above 2 three weeks past onset of symptoms? would this be new or existing infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. John Chiu answered

A little early but: With an acute infection, IgM is the antibody produced. It is possible but unusual to get an IgG response in 2 wks thus I would suspect that this is from a past infection.
