Time to go...: a small recurrent tender spot might be an oil gland that's starting to get infected, or even the beginnings of something worse. Probably the safest thing is to consult a dermatology practitioner. Its also generally safe to kill off local skin cells etc by freezing...they sell kits to do this over the counter. Or you could just watch and wait..and see your PCP if it continues.
