Nodule: Any nodule in a high risk patient (such as urself - as it seems) should be followed with CT chest for 2 years to assure no growth over that period. Only this will assure u that nodule is benign. To suggest proper amount of time between scans I would need to know the size of it on CT. Over 90% of these in recent studies turn out to be benign however. But it's extremely important to have proper care

Nodule: I assume you mean a lung nodule. The good news is that these are very common and most of times no cause for worry :) Certain characteristics such as the size and radiological impression will dictate if you need repeat imaging in the tuture.
