Arm pain: Your symptom is nonspecific but still could be due to muscular strain or inflammation, or tendonitis even if unaffected by arm movements. Another possibility is impingement of a nerve due to disc or spur problems in your neck. Tenderness over the upper arm favors tendonitis or a muscular cause. If cold and or hot applications and Advil (ibuprofen) type medication don't help, see an orthopedic surgeon.
