A member asked:

Where exactly is your meniscus? where should you feel pain from a medial meniscus? it hurts to twist my knee to the right.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The knee's shock: Absorber. There is both a medial and lateral meniscus. It is made up of a different type of cartilage then what is on the end of your femur and tibia and helps protect it from damage. A meniscal tear can be painful and certain activities like bending, climbing stairs, twisting etc are some activities that can increase pain. The pain is usually at the level of the joint.
