Meditation: First get a diagnosis - if you have a migraine syndrome there are more specific and effective treatments. If it is tension headache, then relieving stress is important. Meditation can help. For OTC meds, alternating between ibuprofen 600 mg and acetaminophen 1000 mg every 3 hours is most effective (can do this for 24 hours, take antacids between meals to protect the stomach from the ibuprofen).

Tension-Migraine ?: Sounds like you tried best home Rx. Can try naproxen (Aleve) two immediately > one twice a day for 3-4 days. Otherwise may need medical eval. I like a medication: Fioracet (highest str) - 1/2 tab every 4 hours up to 6 x/d. May need phys therapy. Neck x-ray may be indicated or could try neck collar for a few days. Make sure its not due to your computer work station. Or did it come with Provera (medroxyprogesterone) Rx?
