For some quite a bit: Sleeping less than 6 hours, even if it occurred during adolescence or as a child may play a big role in hormonal balance contributing to weight gain (in particular). Sleep deprivation as an adult, namely less than 6 hours a night has also been linked to a lot of obesity.
