Yes: Once the prometrium (micronized progesterone) melts, you should get the benefit of the hormone when inserted into the vagina. Try placing the prometrium (micronized progesterone) into the vagina up to half the length of your finger. That should place it at the mid vagina instead of all the way up to the cervix.

Should be ok: The capsule needs to be inserted in the vagina up near the cervix at bedtime, ideally.
