Will insurance cover me in case of an earthquake?

Probably not: Regular home insurance policies don’t cover damage from earthquakes. Depending on your financial situation and the value of your home, it may be worthwhile. For information about earthquake insurance, visit http://www.earthquakeauthority.com/CEAindex.aspx

Talk to your: insurance agency. Insurance coverage for earthquakes is usually not included in standard homeowners or renters insurance policies. You normally will have to purchase insurance that is specific for damage resulting from earthquakes. It is called earthquake insurance.
