Duck, over & hold on: The best advice is still: duck, cover, and hold on. If you're indoors, stay there. DO NOT run outside or to other rooms during shaking.

Safety: Drop to hands and knees. Crawl under sturdy desk or table and hold one hand and arm over head for protection. If no sturdy furniture - remain in a crawl position next to an interior wall. Do not position yourself near glass that may break. Doorways may have been a good idea if homes that were poorly constructed. They are no longer recommended.
