Prediabetes: Prediabetes generally refers to someone at high likelihood of getting diabetes, and who may have a glucose value that is trending towards diabetes. This could be a fasting of 100-125, A1C of 5.7-6.4, or a glucose of >200 2 hr after glucose tolerance test. Do you have a family hx of diabetes? Overweight? Abdominal fat? All of these are predictive too. Best solution: weight management, exercise.
