A member asked:

I have gallstones, largest is 4cm, will it continue to grow while i wait on surgery?is it still possible to do surgery with keyhole when it is this big

Yes it will: most likely continue to grow but very slowly. Yes, laparoscopic surgery is possible. The surgeon will probably need to crush the stone in order to remove it from a small incision.

Yes and Yes: All stones enlarge slowly, a few weeks won't make any difference. The diameter is irrelevant due to the methods used for removal by crushing the stone inside the gall bladder upon removal
