Rheumatologist says enbrel (etanercept) isnt working . i've been on it 3m. i read it could take up to 6. whats your opinion? oh, and i still have severe swelling.

Tough call: Any biologic response modifier (brm) should be tried at least 3 months before switching. Rituxin should be tried even longer. The call as to whether to switch can be a tough one. If there is no response to enbrel, (etanercept) i would certainly agree with switching after 3 months. I would only hang in there for the 6 months if you are seeing a good trend (a partial response).
