Spinal Stenosis: Conservative therapy is the first line treatment of this pain - physical therapy, nsaids, and possible injections if indicated. You should ask to be referred to a pain management specialist.

2 conditions: It would be important to know whether your symptoms are due to spinal stenosis of the lower back(pain, numbness of legs when walking) or due to the bulging disk(back pain radiating to the buttock or leg). For the latter, epidural steroid injections may help. For the former some specialists are treating the stenosis with laser instead of surgery.

Treatment So Far?: Have you tried any shots or physical therapy? Getting a good physical evaluation to determine how advanced the spinal stenosis has gotten is extremely important.
