Op vs Nonop options: Nonoperative options include: NSAIDs, bracing, injections & decreasing impact aerobic activities. Operative options include arthroscopy, to diminish any mechanical symptoms (catching, locking or giving way), and more significant procedures such as realigning osteotomies, and even partial or total knee replacement for the most significant arthritis. Your orthopaedic surgeon will review all options.
