Yes: The only way of 100% confirming that you have endometriosis is by doing a laparoscopy. Most of it con be diagnosed visually but you can do a biopsy to confirm.

Definitively...yes: It used to be we had to have biopsy proof of endometriosis to treat medically. Nowadays, we can treat if we have clinical evidence, history, or symptoms that strongly suggest endometriosis. Otherwise, yes, a laparoscopy (thin instruments and camera through small abdominal incisions) can prove you have it and your gyn can treat you during the same procedure. Usually no surgery unless meds fail.
