Sore throat: If your throat is truly sore, and you have severe pain when swallowing, it is a wise decision to go to your MD in clinic and take a rapid strep test to rule out a bacterial throat infection. Most causes of a sore throat are from a virus and not as severe as strep throat. A soothing beverage like herbal tea might help your symptoms as can NSAIDs until you see your MD. Good luck.
