Dentist: I'd see a dentist but it sounds more like trauma via biting your tongue or rubbing your tongue against the teeth during grinding episodes.

Suspicious Lesion: Any suspicious lesion on the tongue that does not resolve itself in 2-3 weeks, should be evaluated. See your doctor or dentist for eval.
