Of course you can: But there is reason to question the diagnosis. Scabies spares the scalp and face [demodex mites defend their territory] except for "Norwegian" scabies which is seen in the elderly or perhaps in some with severe immune deficiency. Perhaps you have something else or you have 2 different things.

Lotion, not cream: Permethrin OTC comes in a lotion that can be used in the hair after you shower, shampoo, and towel try. Be sure to follow CDC instructions for disposing of or sterilizing clothes or bedding you have used while infected and any close contacts you have had need treating as well. Good luck.
