Painful red bump: Painful red bumps should be evaluated. Or at least monitored closely for possible worsening of infection. While waiting to see your Family Doc, apply warm compresses (reasonable option for any (potential) infection vs ice packs for injuries). Also use ballpoint pen to outline area then date/time marking so you have objective idea of worsening/improvement. Of course, see your Family Doc if worse.
