Infection: Soreness and yellow discharge suggest infection. The first line of treatment is hygiene. Take a shower making sure to thoroughly but gently lather the area then rinse well. Afterwards, apply hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and gently clean out the navel twice a day. If it doesn't clear up in a couple of days, seek medical attention.
