Possible Infection: Any sudden pain should be evaluated by your PCP. Infection of the tonsils is a possibility this would cause increase pain especially with swallowing. You may even have enlarged lymph nodes with an infection in your throat. It is best to have a health professional take a look at the back of your throat.
