Anatomy of tongue: Those bumps were almost certainly always there- you just probably never looked that closely before. The anatomy of the tongue is rather complex after all. If you are having a sore throat - it's more likely the back part of your throat that is irritated (posterior pharynx). Look for redness or pus spots - if you have that with a fever, you'll need to see a doc to make sure you don't have Strep. TC
