How rapid vs. pulse: rate? Though rare to be this, it could reflect major cardiovascular disease in your middle cerebral artery; one portion located just deep to the middle ear cavity, next to the cochlea. If the RATE & timing matches the pulse in you neck (carotid artery), it could reflect a complication of artery ds. & be a warning sign of an impending major stroke.
