Cancer staging: Endometrial cancer like many other cancers is treated based on the stage of the disease, i.e. how advanced it is. Tumors that are still very localized can be managed with surgical treatment that may be relatively easily recovered from. More extensive disease may require more significant treatments that may not fit easily with a normal work schedule. Recovery from a hysterectomy may be 6 wks+
