What pain medication can i take for irritable bowel disease? bentyl (dicyclomine) has no effect and 5mg of percocet is no longer working. the pain is excruciating.

Makes it worse: Opiates are BAD and temporary solutions to any kind of intestinal disorder. They may temporarily mask the pain, but by also slowing down the activity of the bowel they ultimately make the symptoms worse. Anticholinergic drugs like bentyl (dicyclomine) may or may not work. See your PCP or a gastroenterologist to make sure you have the right diagnosis and the right treatment. There are many available options.
